I decided to roll this past week into one post. My other computer is broken because the baby decided to spill some juice on it and just not so easy to type things. So this is my weekly recap all rolled into one post. I have a few<b> milestones reached</b> this week!<i> </i><b><i>TUESDAY </i>I ran 11.75 Km! </b>And it felt <i>amazing</i>! Then later that evening I did <b>2 RPM Classes <i>in a row!</i></b> Thanks to my friend <i><b>Joanne</b></i> for getting me to do it! This morning my husband had a day off of work, <b><i>*aka Yay! I can go for a ruuun day*!</i></b> I woke up and got Khaled ready for school and dressed myself for the plan! I was <i>going</i> to walk him to school, and then start my run from there while hubby and the kids slept. <i>But,</i> <i>that</i> little plan was interrupted by Mohammed's <i><b>"waaaaaah"</b></i> and then, while I was trying to get him back to sleep, my husband drove Khaled to school, and <i>then,</i> I hear raining and hail outside...<i>awww,</i> I was disappointed...I didn't <i>really</i> want to get my sneakers all wet, and it is chilly out too. So, I decided to make some <b>French Toast</b> for breakfast and brewed a nice <b>fresh</b> <b>pot of coffee</b> and sat down with my little family to enjoy....<br />

I started off with an <b><i>IDEA</i></b> of where I wanted to run, I had a general direction, but I just follow how I feel as I go along...I decided about 2 Km in that<b> I would <i>ATTEMPT</i> to do, or get <i>pretty close</i> to a 10 Km</b>....having a little route in my mind...<i>knowing</i> what 6.45 Km felt like, and how far that took me...<b>I drew a little imaginary map in my mind and <u>I went for it</u>....</b><br />

Lots of hills...some pretty steep ones too....I ran pretty much the <i>WHOLE</i> time (64mins) with about a 3 minute warm-up walk, and then I stopped to get a rock out of my shoe...then the <i>other</i> shoe had a rock <i>lol</i>...and then I finished with 4 minutes of stretching. So pretty much ran the whole time...different paces...there were some <b><i>pretty steep</i></b> elevations, so sometimes I <i>really</i> had to slow/shorten my pace because my heart rate was sky rocketing <i>lol</i>...<i>BUT</i> still felt great! I didn't feel a pain...or an urge to stop. I was<i><b> loving</b></i> it so much! I could keep <i>going and going</i>...just an <i>awesome</i> feeling of<b> freedom</b>...<br />

I was excited to come home to<b><i> "map my route"</i></b> on<i> SparkPeople</i>. I go on a little map, trace my route <i>exactly,</i> and it <b>tells me the distance that I ran!</b> I always come home and that is the <b><i>first</i></b> thing I do! I was <i>soooo</i> excited to see that I reached <b>8.24Km</b> on this morning's run! <b>Plus I burned 606 Calories!!</b> So <i>NOW</i> I <i>know</i> what<b> 8.24 Km</b> feels like and looks like...so that sets me up to challenge myself the next time....hopefully tomorrow, but most likely Saturday!<br />

Then, I went and did a little shopping for kid's clothes...and headed to the gym. There was a mix-up in times as the schedule was different just for today due to staff meetings...so I missed my <i>planned</i> RPM & Hot Yoga...but I had a nice time doing <b>Free-Weights & Abs</b> with <i>Lydia & Barbora</i>! We did 1Hour of Triceps, Biceps, Chest Presses, Abs, Dead-Lifts, Dead Rows, and Shoulders and I burned another 242 Calories!<br />

Well I am tired and have to get to bed...<i>Alhamdullilah/Thanks to God</i> for this <b>Wonderful Life</b> <b><i>MashaAllah!</i></b> A little weekly re-cap to follow.<br />

Yesterday, while I was out on my<b> run</b> in the light snowfall mixed with light drizzle of rain, a lady walking by just said to me:<br />

I was like <i>"Ohhh Thank you"</i> and continued on my way with a little smile. <i>Awww</i> that was really nice of her to say. Sometimes people can really make your <i>whole</i> day just by saying a<b> nice comment or compliment</b>...Thank you to that stranger. I get many comments on my weight-loss from friends, and people at the gym all the time and I want to Thank all those people. Those are the type of comments that can keep people going towards their goals...who knows what that person is going through and feeling? <i>Maybe</i> they were feeling like giving up (been there) and that one little comment...<i>kept</i> them going...<br />

</div><div style="text-align: left;">I posted a little about it before, but it all started when my gym buddy <i><b>Joanne</b></i> won two entries for the <b>10Km Vancouver Sun Run</b> along with weekly <b>Training Clinics</b>. She asked me if I would go along with her and I thought, well...that would be something interesting, I would love to try something different, and what a challenge that would be...so<b> I was in!</b> The first training session I was nervous that I would be behind and not in shape enough, but we joined the Turtles to start and it was surprisingly easy....so we did Turtles again the next week...I felt I could move up a group...and when <i>I DID</i>, <b>I KNEW I made the right step</b>...it felt <i><b>GREAT</b></i>...I was not tired at all, and <i>even</i> wanted to keep going...so now I am thinking of moving into the fast group from the medium group! I will try it next week and see how it goes. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: left;">When I <i>USED</i> walk around the mountain a lot, I would run for 2-3 telephone poles and walk more...I would only run non-stop when I got to the downhill parts, and I would be <i>out of breath</i>, and my heart and lungs as well as legs where not working with me! I would <i>NEVER</i> even <i>THINK</i> to run up-hill...and had no idea how to pace-myself, so I was going into this with <i>THAT</i> mentality...but then when I was running<i><b> THIS</b></i> time...I noticed my<b> heart, lungs <i>AND</i> legs were <i>loving</i> this</b>...I felt like I did not even have to stop or rest. I know this is because of all those <i>LesMills classes</i> I have been so dedicated to...my sports-inspired<i> BodyAttack</i>, my heart-conditioning<i> RPM</i>, strength-building <i>BodyPump</i>, my <i>BodyCombat</i>, <i>BodyJam</i>, as well as <i>ZUMBA</i> and occasional <i>Hot Yoga</i>. </div><div style="text-align: left;">At first I was not doing my homework runs on my own time, because<i> I thought I go to the gym enough so why would I do that lol</i>...but once I <i>STARTED</i> doing them, I have been trying to fit them in any time I get the chance because even though the weather is cold, the feeling I get when I am out there is like nothing else, and I crave that feeling. <i>The most <b>wonderful feeling</b>...out there in nature, running on the mountain...breathing in the chilly air...and at the same time, nice and warm from such an <b>awesome</b> workout and the sunshine shining down on you...all you hear are the rocks under your feet and the occasional bus, car or airplane. Ahhhh nothing more relaxing....</i></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">I have been running<b> 4.89-6.16Km</b> so far. I put the baby for a nap and off I go. I walk for a minute or so and then run the <i>whole</i> time at different paces, navigating my way through different routes up here on the mountain and lots of little hills and bigger hills...to challenge myself on the route and I just keep on running. If you have never tried it...start small in intervals of walking and running and work your way up...it really is an <b><i>amazing</i></b> experience and a really nice thing to do for <b>YOURSELF!</b> </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />

Today I woke up had <i>so many lovely</i> Birthday messages online. My friend <i>Lisa </i>was the first to say Happy Birthday to me this morning...<i>Thanks Lisa</i>. I talked to my <i>Mom</i> for a while this morning which was nice. My twin sister <i>Shannie</i> called too. My husband was off to work early in the morning, but came home really early today, after I got the baby sleeping for his afternoon nap I had a little relaxing <b>me time</b>. I got some warm clothes on and my <i>Vibram Komodo Five Fingers Shoes</i> with the socks, and headed out the door for my<i><b> "Sun Run Homework Training"</b></i>. I did a brisk warm up walk for 5 minutes and then ran for the full 28 remaining minutes.<b> I could have kept <i>running</i> and <i>running</i></b>...I was having a really great time, but my <b>TOES</b> were cold as I ran by the house... so I ended it lol! But I felt so free and amazing...my lungs and heart were in <i>great</i> condition and I never felt like slowing down!<br />

Joanne gave me a really cute red <b>"GoodLife" T-Shirt</b> (I am wearing it now and loving it! So cool!!) and some lotion! Thanks Joanne! Elly had lots of hugs for me..<i>.awwww!</i> I felt so special and had a great time! Joanne had on her <i><b>new</b></i> Vibram Komodos too and Elly had hers all ordered! :)<br />

Then I did BodyPump with <i>Ari,</i> and as I said before her classes are <b><i>really</i> AWESOME</b> too! <i>Elly </i>and <i>Lydia</i> joined in, and it was great to see <i>Angela</i> and <i>Gloria</i>! And how sweet of Gloria noticing I lost weight...Thanks Gloria! So over-all <i>great</i> morning! I walked out with a pair of the <strong><span style="background-color: #9fc5e8; color: #0b5394;">"2011 KOMODO Sport"</span></strong> which are geared for <strong>fitness and running</strong>. After wearing them around the house, I don't want to take them off :) I also picked up a pair of the socks that <strong>go</strong> in them. if I felt like wearing socks.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />

I wasn't <em>really</em> feeling like doing Pump again since I did it yesterday, and it is not recommended to do it two days in a row. I was thinking maybe I will go relax in the Sauna for my other hour,<em> then</em> I was thinking to go do weights...<em>then</em> I was like, well maybe I will do BodyFlow...decisions, decisions! But <em>then</em> my little light bulb up there in my head went on as I remembered that<strong> <span style="background-color: #d5a6bd;"><span style="color: #741b47;">HOT YOGA with <em>Linda</em></span></span></strong> is<em> immedietly</em> following BodyJam! So with my<span style="color: #a64d79;"><strong> <em>little lavender yoga mat</em></strong></span> (which was collecting dust for a while) in tow and my matching<em><span style="color: #a64d79;"> <strong>LuLu Yoga Towel</strong></span></em>...I set off with my mind made up...</div><br />
<strong>BodyJam</strong> was<em> sooo</em> fun with Romain,<em> as usual</em>, and a second instructor up there on the stage (I do not know her name yet, but had her for Zumba before, and she is<em> "da- bomb"</em> awesome too!) I enjoyed<strong><em><span style="background-color: #b4a7d6;"> Elly & Joanne's</span></em></strong> company and we had a few laughs! That is why these classes are so enjoyable, it is the people all around you just having <strong>FUN!</strong> I left the class during the cool down and ran off to make it for Hot Yoga...<br />
<br />
There was <em><strong>Linda</strong></em> (Elly & My<em> favorite</em> Hot Yoga instructor), greeting us at the door with her warm, welcoming smile! She was so sweet commenting on my weightloss...<em><strong>Thank you Linda!</strong></em> You are so kind. I really didn't realize how much I missed Hot Yoga over the last almost 2 months. Time flies! It was a great class, Linda threw in some new things to keep it challenging, and I was<em> surprised</em> that my foot on my right side could sit <strong><em>above</em> my knee</strong> in one of the positions! That was a first...left side did for a few seconds, but it was slipping. <strong>But that was a first for me!</strong> I have to incorporate it back into my schedule and I think I will do it after Jam every Thursday from now on! So happy I will have it back on my schedule because it is really nice and<em> relaxing!</em> It is like a <em>warm escape</em> on these chilly days. Helps a lot with flexibility because my lower back was so stiff tonight,<em> hehehe</em> so I guess that is a sign to get back too!<br />

O.K. So<em><strong> Elly</strong></em>...I am <strong>back to Hot Yoga</strong>...it is a date...Me, You, Linda,<em> ohhh</em> and Annette too when she gets back... <strong><em>EVERY</em></strong> Thursday night @7:30pm! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">As I get<b> closer to my goal weight</b>, the weight loss is <b><i>much</i> slower</b>, which also sometimes makes me feel like I am not doing as good as I was. You get<i> "little whispers"</i> creeping in telling you, <i>"You are Failing"</i> or <i>"You are slipping" </i>(Not literal whispers <i>hehe</i> no worries) It is kind of frustrating, but <i><b>I DO know</b></i>, and I <b><i>DO</i></b> realize that weight <i>can't</i> keep dropping off at a staggering rate because that would be unhealthy! The closer you do get to your ideal weight, it is not as easy to lose, <b>it takes <i>more</i> work!</b> I also feel a lot more muscle and can see it too, and muscle weighs more than fat so that is a good thing! I had a <i>"Major Sweaty"</i> 1Hour <i style="color: #351c75;">BodyStep Class</i> with <i>Mariette & Stacy</i> teaching, they are really high energy and I love their classes! Then, followed that with a <i><b>gruelling</b></i> 1Hour <i style="color: #351c75;">BodyPump </i>with <i>Romain</i>, and I <b>challenged myself</b> this time by <b>adding<i> more</i> weights than usual</b>, and in turn I felt I got more of a workout, and burned more calories than I usually do in the class! Right before the class started... A <i style="color: #351c75;"><b>"Little Ray of Sunshine"</b></i> with her <b style="color: #351c75;">Big Smile</b> <b>walked in!</b> That would be<i><b> Elly</b></i>, and she set her bench up next to mine :D What a great morning! I was so touched that she thought of me, while she was away enjoying the sun and the beach...and also, her little daughter <i>Becca</i> thought of Hessah and got her a little gift too that she chose on her own! Those two little girls love each other and they are so cute together! At the gym today, I was so happy that <i>Charissa</i> and <i>Joanne</i> saved me a seat at the front in <i>Romain's</i> class, because it was an <b>AWESOME RPM</b> class as usual, this was my 3rd time doing the New Release and I like it! Elly & I missed the last 10 mins of<i> BodyCombat</i> because the class started late and then the childcare closed right at 8:30pm. The <b>New Release is TOUGH!</b> I mean the leg track is just <i>unbelievable</i>! This was my 3rd time doing the BodyCombat release.<br />
<br />
I didn't mention, but we have an<i> amazing</i> new <b>RPM instructor named<i> Ari</i></b>, she is loved by all the members, I wonder if she <i>even knows</i> how many people have said<i> "She's the BEST!"</i> so much energy and just a great instructor! Another nice thing is that you always see her <i>actually participating</i> in the other classes, and that is always nice to see. Tuesday is our<i><b> "Double-Romain Night"</b></i> and his classes are<i> really</i> top-notch and hard to skip! I do miss going to <i>Duff's</i> extended class on Monday's, because I was doing the <i>BodyAttack</i> class with his wife <i>Nathalie</i> for a while, and then I showed up last night and he was not teaching the extended class anymore :( I am gonna ask him WHAT'S UP? :P <br />

Learning curves are good and definetly taught me you have to eat healthy to fuel your body AND workout to attain your<strong> Health & Weight-Loss Goals the RIGHT way!</strong> Now I know how to make it successful and I won't ever<em> InshaAllah</em> find myself back where I was! <br />

Ohhh went to the <strong>SUN RUN Training</strong> on Sunday morning and followed that by <em>BodyCombat</em>...when we did the try-on for the Sun Run Shirts I got a <strong>SMALL!</strong> <em>Woohoo! Although I am nervous because I have never ran for any length of time (except for many years ago when I was in the Canadian Army Reserves, and I <i>must </i>add I kind of had a <i>running phobia</i> back then <i>lol</i>... *something about being scared to "fall-out" but it was more of a FORCED TO RUN thing rather than doing it FOR FUN...kind of cause that lol*<br />

So my friend Joanne <b>WON</b> entry packages and <b>FREE TRAINING </b>once a week for Her and a Guest and she asked <i>meee</i> to be her Guest...<i>Awww</i> I am very touched that she chose me... and I would actually never have done anything like this anytime soon on my own, but this is the <i>perfect</i> way to <b>challenge myself</b>, and this is the <i>PERFECT</i> OPPORTUNITY to get a photo of myself with a <b># on my Chest</b> <i>LOL</i>! You know, the <i>cool</i> running pictures many of you runners have! <i>Sooooo</i> gonna have one now ;)<br />

So...all signed up and now what??!!?? <i>Well</i>, we start our <b>Weekly Training TOMORROW Morning</b> <b>@8:30am!</b> Great place too as it is sooo close to our <b><i>BELOVED</i> GYM!</b> It is only about a block away, so once we are finished the training we can hop over to the gym...warm up in the Sauna, and then get a <i><b>BodyCombat</b></i> class in...how <i>awesome </i>is that? Pretty Awesome!<br />

I have to go and get a good running jacket, a warm head band and maybe some new runners, because we will be training outside for the run, so I need to have some nice clean, dry sneakers for the gym, and I don't want to use the same ones as it is wet and chilly here in Vancouver, British Columbia!<br />

So<b><i> every</i> Sunday</b> from <b>NOW <i>until </i>APRIL 17th</b>, I am going to commit myself to this goal right next to my gym buddy Joanne...I am nervous and I hope I can do it! I think my heart and lungs are well conditioned because I do a lot of Cardio Classes....<br />

</div>I also <i><b>LOVE</b></i> shopping again...I can remember after Baby#3 going into the stores and having to Buy L or XL shirts...and now I can pick a <b>Small</b> off the rack and not even try it on and <i><b>I KNOW</b></i> it will fit...since I am a pear shape though...I need to work on my bum and thighs hehehe but I am satisfied with how I look and enjoy getting out of the shower and getting dressed like I used to...just a few months ago, I would <b><i>dread</i> </b>getting out of the shower because my clothes were <i>SOOOO</i> tight because I refused to buy a SIZE or TWO bigger after gaining that 23 pounds back...so I would go to the bathroom and fight with my jeans to get them on....they had <i>JUST</i> fit me a few months ago and I worked so hard to get into them...BUT <i><b>NOW</b></i>...I just gave THOSE few pairs of jeans <b>away</b> because they were <b>too BIG! </b><br />

I am pretty happy with myself <i>MashaAllah</i> and I feel<i> really</i> great! To do my <i>REAL</i> comparison, I will get<b> "Body Composition #1"</b> (Dated: Sept 28) results from the gym, which I will try to do tomorrow :) I will also do a weight and measurement update as soon as I can. <br />

<u>For <b><i>today's</i> comparison</b> of almost <b>2 months</b> of <b><i>"My New Healthy Lifestyle"</i></b>, I have:</u><br />
<b>"Body Composition #2"</b> (Dated: Oct 8) and <b>"Body Composition #3"</b> (Dated: Dec 6)<br />

The only thing I know from BC1 is the weight so that one will be BC1-BC3 but the rest are just BC2-BC3) Here we go...<br />

<div style="background-color: #ead1dc;"><b>Weight Loss</b>: </div>(BC1-BC2 = <b>LOSS of 22 Pounds!</b>) <br />
<br />
<div style="background-color: #ead1dc;"><b>FAT %:</b> </div>(BC2-BC3 = <b>LOSS of 10.9% of Body Fat!</b>)<br />
<br />
<div style="background-color: #ead1dc;"><b>FAT Mass:</b> </div>(BC2-BC3 = <b>LOSS of 21.79 Pounds of Fat Mass!</b>)<br />
<br />
<div style="background-color: #ead1dc;"><b>FFM/Fat Free Mass:</b> </div>(BC3-BC2 = <b>GAIN of 5.4 Pounds of FFM!</b>)<br />
<br />
NOTE: Gain here in FFM is a good thing because<i> "Fat Free Mass"</i> is everything in the body that is <b>NOT FAT</b> (which consists of muscle, water, bone, connective tissue, etc.) Muscle acts as the body's natural "fat-burning engine", there fore it is important to maintain or even gain healthy muscle mass when exercising or dieting. So this # went up but that is a good thing :) More muscle = Less Fat!<br />
<br />
<div style="background-color: #ead1dc;"><b>TBW/Total Body Water:</b> </div>(BC3-BC2 = GAIN 4 Pounds of Water Weight)<br />
<br />
NOTE: I think Gain here is alright, not accurate way of weight measuring because depends on time of day, time on month, how much water you recently drank, when you exercised last and stuff like that, so not that a hugely important # but someone correct me if I am wrong :)<br />
Total Body Water is important to ensure your body is not dehydrated, especially when exercising or dieting. <br />
<br />
To check your Body's<b> "<i>Estimated Hydration %</i>"</b> there is a little calculation:<br />
TBW/Weight x 100 = Estimated Hydration Level<br />
<br />
<b>Women should be: 50-60% Hydration</b> <i>and</i> Men should be: 60-70% Hydration<br />
<br />
<b>MY BC2 HYDRATION CALCULATION <u><i>WAS</i></u></b>: 47.6% Hydration (Not Good)<br />
<br />
<b>MY <u><i>NEW</i></u> HYDRATION CALCULATION:</b> 55.6% Hydration (Sounds good to me!)<br />
<br />
SO that is my little update so far! I CAN'T WAIT to see BC#1 because I can't wait to compare, I hope I can run into her at the gym tomorrow!!<br />

<b>UPDATE: </b> 5 Pounds DOWN and 5 to go!<br />

GOAL#1 and 1/2 Way through GOAL#2 <b>TOTAL = 28 Pounds!!</b> <br />
<br />
<b><u>GOAL#3</u>:</b> Will be to lose 10 more and then I will be all set <i>InshaAllah!</i> :)<br />

And on a pretty cool note (not to forget all my prior weight-loss successes)...I am <b>DOWN 44 POUNDS</b> since I gave birth to Baby#3 Mohammed! <br />

I have 8 more pounds to go until I reached the weight I was when I got pregnant with Baby #3 (Mohammed), <i>but</i> my inches are better I think because I can fit into the <i>same</i> clothes as that time, could be all my working out! But <i><b>I am happy!</b></i> <br />

<i>Then</i> I have a <i>Goal #3</i> after that but I want to make it feel easier for myself with smaller goals. I have lost a <i>lot </i>since I gave birth to Mohammed. I had him May 30 of 2009. Since then I have <b>lost</b> <b>41 pounds</b> and I am happy <i>MashaAllah</i>. But then I gained a bit and now I am down <i>THAT</i> 23 pounds and I am down an <i>extra</i> 2 pounds into Goal #2!<br />

Bye Bye 23 Pounds!<i>Woohoooooooo</i>....so this morning I got on the scale...guess I <i>wasn't</i> on a <strike>plateau</strike>. I lost that last 1 Pound I was waiting for to reach<b> GOAL #1</b> of <b>losing the <strike>23 Pounds</strike></b> I gained while in UAE! Sooo see ya later to those unwanted pounds...I have a <i><b>ONE-UP</b></i> on it too because even though I am the <i>same</i> weight I was when I LEFT...<b>I am now <i>LESS </i>INCHES </b>which I will post tonight. Soooo this is celebrating my <b style="background-color: #b4a7d6;">23 pound LOSS</b> and I am so happy. I am feeling like a <b><i>MILLION BUCKS</i></b>...and am looking forward to the gym tonight for<i> BodyPump</i> with Nathalie...and <i>RPM</i> with Mariette. Yayy me.
